Urban Partners teams up with One Click LCA to help cut embodied carbon

Written by Kim Koivula | Feb 12 2026

Urban Partners, formerly Nrep, will use One Click LCA to quantify embodied carbon from early design and guide project decisions, helping meet Denmark’s strict building regulations and reinforcing its path to its 2030 climate targets.

Copenhagen, Denmark (February 12th, 2026) - Urban Partners, a leading European urban investment manager formerly known as Nrep, has announced a partnership with sustainability platform One Click LCA to integrate life cycle carbon data into design and material decisions for new developments. The collaboration enables Urban Partners to assess and optimize the carbon footprint of projects from the earliest design stages, before construction begins.

Through the One Click LCA platform, Urban Partners will have access to the world’s largest sustainability database for construction, to compare materials using verified data and evaluate carbon emissions across a project’s full life cycle. This allows to balance carbon performance, regulatory compliance, and material feasibility early in the planning process, where the majority of a building’s carbon impact is determined.

Urban Partners is working toward greenhouse gas reduction goals validated by the Science-BasedTargets Initiative (SBTi), which informs its investment strategy. The company has embedded decarbonization across all operations and investments, aiming for a 50% reduction in embodied emissions by 2030, relative to a 2022 baseline. The company is one of only 15 globally to pilot SBTi’s guidelines and provide development input for the tool.

The partnership with One Click LCA includes access to the platform’s environmental product declarations (EPDs) database, the largest repository of environmental data for construction materials in the world, as well as Materials Compass, where a vast library of materials can be directly compared for full impact transparency. Urban Partners can also count on advanced LCA tools to assess and test various carbon impact scenarios for their projects ahead of on-site work.

”One Click LCA will be an important tool for us going forward, supporting our ambitions to lead the decarbonization of the real estate sector. We will strengthen our ability to manage and analyze LCA data and the construction solutions used in our projects. The increased amount of data will improve how we track progress, and the ability to create and verify the climate performance of building components is vital. This provides our transaction teams and project developers with better support when making investment and design decisions - ultimately shaping new buildings that could meet our ambitious decarbonization targets”

– Marcus Hedman, Urban Partners’ sustainability team.

Denmark has some of the strongest sustainability regulations in the world, with life cycle assessments mandatory for all construction projects. The CO2 limits for buildings are also among the lowest globally, making sustainability an essential early requirement for property investors to consider in all projects. As requirements tighten further in all Europe towards 2027 and beyond, access to reliable early-stage data is becoming a competitive need rather than only a compliance mandate.

“Denmark is at the forefront of sustainable construction, setting an example for international regulation. One Click LCA enables Urban Partners to integrate environmental insights from the very start of the design process, when the potential for impact is the greatest, and to compare materials using EPD data. This allows them to optimize every part of their projects and turn ambitious decarbonization goals into measurable, real-world outcomes."

– Tuomas Jääskeläinen, Team Lead, Nordic Business Development at One Click LCA

With Urban Partners’ broad investment focus spanning residential, commercial, and infrastructure, the ability to assess carbon impact in a variety of scenarios is critical for success.
