"Environmental product declarations (EPDs) offer indisputable evidence of the environmental benefits of our products. By investing in sustainable materials and using EPDs, we have been able to differentiate our products in the market, creating value for both Wibe Group and our customers by offering products that contribute to lower carbon emissions."

— Manjunatha BC, Sustainability Leader at Wibe Group
Sustainability is at the core of Wibe Group’s strategy, guiding its vision to lead the industry’s shift toward environmental responsibility. By embedding sustainability into product development and using tools like product LCAs and EPDs, Wibe Group drives innovation in materials and practices across its entire product range. The company’s long-term goal is to make sustainable features a standard across its product range, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.
"Before adopting EPDs, we faced challenges in quantifying the carbon impact of our products, which limited our ability to develop improvements. Recognizing sustainability as a growing competitive differentiator, we invested in solutions to measure and reduce our environmental footprint."
— Jérémy Melun, Mechanical Engineer at Wibe Group
By generating EPDs with One Click LCA, Wibe Group now communicates and showcases the environmental impact of its products through clear, reliable data that is easily understood by customers. The software also supports the company in integrating LCA into its product development process and comparing low-carbon suppliers. Through scenario simulations and data analysis, Wibe Group identifies opportunities to optimize material choices and production methods, ensuring measurable reductions in environmental impact.
A prime example of this is Wibe Group's use of recycled aluminum in wall trunking – a pioneering move in the market that sets a new benchmark for sustainability. The EPDs highlighted that a major source of CO2 in aluminum wall trunking was in the A1 stage (raw material extraction and processing) prompting the decision to develop the first wall trunking made of 100% recycled aluminum in the market. This not only reduced the products' carbon emissions but also minimized waste and energy consumption across the product life cycle.
Additionally, producing in the Nordics further reduced carbon emissions by optimizing transportation and leveraging energy-efficient processes.
With tailored support and training, One Click LCA enabled Wibe Group to quickly and efficiently generate EPDs in-house for its range of products. The smooth onboarding process also empowered the Wibe team to become self-sufficient and effective in creating and updating EPDs.
Publishing EPDs has already transformed Wibe Group's discussions with partners and customers. Although the journey is still in its early stages, using One Click LCA is helping Wibe open new doors by enabling meaningful conversations with distributors and specifiers who value sustainability. By providing credible, data-backed answers to questions about environmental performance, Wibe Group has improved the quality of their interactions, positioning themselves as a forward-thinking company.
