About the webinar
Whole life carbon reporting becomes mandatory from 2028 under EPBD
The recast EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) fundamentally changes building regulation across Europe.
For the first time, whole life carbon (GWP) disclosure becomes mandatory for new buildings:
- 2028: Large new buildings
- 2030: All new buildings
With reporting aligned to the EU Level(s) framework, life cycle assessment (LCA) will become a standard compliance requirement.
If you are involved in building design, development, sustainability, or regulatory oversight, this session will help you understand what changes — and how to prepare.
What does the webinar cover?
Join this free webinar to gain a clear understanding of the revised EPBD and what it means for embodied carbon in Europe.
In this session, you’ll learn:
- An overview of the revised EPBD and its key requirements
- How countries across Europe are already introducing embodied carbon regulations, and how these are expected to align with EPBD
- How to assess and report global warming potential (GWP) for new buildings, including emerging national decarbonization roadmaps
- How teams can prepare for compliance using Level(s) and national calculation tools
- A broader European perspective on embodied carbon legislation, with practical insights from real workflows
- Expert insights from Buro Happold on implementing these requirements in practice
- A live demonstration of the One Click LCA Level(s) carbon tool
- Live Q&A: Ask your questions about EPBD timelines, methodology, and practical challenges
