Whole life carbon reporting becomes mandatory from 2028 under EPBD

The recast EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) fundamentally changes building regulation across Europe.

For the first time, whole life carbon (GWP) disclosure becomes mandatory for new buildings:

2028: Large new buildings
2030: All new buildings

With reporting aligned to the EU Level(s) framework, life cycle assessment (LCA) will become a standard compliance requirement.
