Carbon information often arrives too late
As sustainability requirements take on greater weight in construction, manufacturers need to provide more than product performance data. Customers expect reliable environmental information that supports specification decisions, tender submissions, and compliance requirements.
The stakes are shaped by a simple fact: most of the buildings that will exist in 2050 are already standing today, which makes renovation as central to the transition as new construction. Building a shared evidence layer
Working with One Click LCA, Hydro integrated digital life cycle assessment directly into its own quotation workflow. Rather than simply digitizing a calculation, the integration turned the tool into a shared evidence layer connecting product data, project assumptions, and decision making, in place of a process that previously ran as a separate expert task performed largely apart from the commercial and technical conversation. The connected process links product information, material data, and environmental datasets, letting project teams assess complete facade systems rather than individual products.

Because a facade or window is rarely a single material, the assessment has to account for profiles, glazing, accessories, fixings, thermal breaks, gaskets, and coatings alongside project-specific quantities.
