Helsinki, Finland (April 1st,  2025) Schneider Electric, the global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has published the largest-ever number of MEP Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) data through the One Click LCA platform. The data is now available through One Click LCA’s platform and global Materials Compass, the world’s largest EPD database for construction products. The addition of Schneider Electric product data sees the total number of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing EPDs in the platform increase from roughly 20,000 to more than 70,000 MEP products, providing buyers, specifiers, and project owners data on the carbon impact of their electrification choices.

While more EPD data is available for common building materials like concrete and steel, MEP data has lagged significantly. According to CIBSE research, MEP contributes 15% to 50% of embodied carbon in commercial buildings and up to 50% of embodied carbon in retrofits over the building's lifetime. Low-carbon choices for common electrical products like breakers, fuses, electrical fixtures, and distribution components can significantly impact a building’s total carbon footprint.

“To lower carbon emissions from construction, the industry depends on having access to environmental data for every material they use in a project. By publishing this record amount of EPD data for our electrical components, Schneider Electric is making it as easy as possible to select the most sustainable and applicable products for every construction project.”

- Sorouch Kheradmand, Global Head of Sustainability Partnerships at Schneider Electric

Through One Click LCA’s solutions, architects, engineers, and construction (AEC) professionals can use Schneider Electric data to make sustainable design decisions. According to a recent study by One Click LCA, 86% of global AEC professionals say EPD data shapes their materials choices.

“Schneider Electric is leading the way for the MEP sector by making their EPD data available. Contractors and engineers need a clear understanding of the impact of all their materials to build sustainably. We hope that this giant step Schneider Electric has made will pave the way for others to make their EPD data available at scale.”

- Panu Pasanen, CEO & Founder of One Click LCA

One Click LCA’s platform hosts the world’s largest construction product database of environmental product declarations (EPDs), based on life-cycle assessment (LCA) data. The database gives designers, engineers, buyers, product managers, specifiers, and other AEC professionals access to the environmental impact of more than 300,000 construction and MEP products.
