One Click LCA launches Icelandic construction LCA tool with Housing & Construction Authority (HMS)

One Click LCA and HMS have partnered to address new Icelandic regulations mandating life-cycle assessments (LCA) for buildings. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable construction practices across Iceland by providing a solution that aligns with the new LCA regulations, which will come into force on September 1, 2025. 

Helsinki, Finland, October 16, 2024 — The Housing and Construction Authority of Iceland (Húsnæðis— og mannvirkjastofnun, HMS) and One Click LCA, the sustainability platform for construction and manufacturing, announced a partnership to accelerate the adoption of sustainable building practices in Iceland.  

This collaboration aligns with Iceland's ambitious goal of reducing the environmental impact of its construction sector and its upcoming implementation of a regulation requiring life-cycle assessments (LCAs) for a significant portion of new building permits. One Click LCA is actively working with HMS to assist the Icelandic construction industry during its transition to mandatory LCAs by providing the Icelandic LCA tool, a digital compliant solution that aligns with the new LCA regulations. The tool is tailored to Icelandic methodology and facilitates whole-life carbon assessments by integrating local and international databases for comprehensive LCA calculations.
